Cardiac Surgery Unit 2 provides planned, emergency medical care, inpatient care within the guaranteed volume of free medical care, as well as on a paid basis to the population (citizens of the Republic of Kazakhstan and non-residents) with pathology of the cardiovascular system, in the treatment of complex and severe cardiac diseases.
The priority areas of the Unit:
· operations on coronary vessels;
· geometric reconstruction of the left ventricle;
· aortic surgery;
· replacement and restoration of valves;
· transplantation of the heart, lungs, and heart-lung complex;
· percutaneous valve implantation;
· minimally invasive surgical procedures;
· implantation of long-lasting blood circulation devices;
· surgical treatment of cardiac arrhythmias.
The main tasks of the Unit:
1. Conducting highly specialized cardiac surgical care for the population using the latest technologies;
2. Introduction of new advanced innovative treatment methods into practice, interconnection and continuity in work with other medical and diagnostic units.
Functions of the Unit:
1) performing all types of cardiac surgery using modern advanced equipment, high-quality surgical instruments, a wide range of stitching devices;
2) accurate diagnosis, the use of objective examination methods, the identification of common and specific signs of diseases, the establishment of a clinical diagnosis and differential diagnosis of cardiac diseases, highly qualified care and treatment;
3) management of patients after all types of open heart surgery, including implantation of an auxiliary circulatory device, as well as patients with severe heart failure;
4) conducting multi-stage cardiac surgery for complex congenital heart defects;
5) comprehensive treatment of complex heart defects complicated by pulmonary hypertension;
6) participation in scientific research, generalization of clinical and scientific data in order to develop new methods of providing specialized and highly specialized medical care;
7) participation in the development and improvement of the regulatory framework of the healthcare industry on medical and diagnostic assistance to the population in the field of cardiac surgery;
8) implementation of a quality improvement plan, including: monitoring of relevant indicators, implementation of standards and policies, procedures, clinical protocols and rules, consideration of complaints and suggestions from patients and their families, projects to improve the quality of services provided;
9) professional development of the department's staff according to the approved plan;
10) compliance with the rules of safety and labor protection and fire safety when performing medical and diagnostic procedures at the Center.
